World Life Global Safaris Additional Booking Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 24/02/2026
These Terms & Conditions explain how bookings work and the rules for joining our trips. By booking with us, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms for yourself and for anyone included in your booking.
If anything is unclear, ask us before you pay.
1) Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to:
- the person making the booking; and
- every traveller included in that booking.
The lead booker is responsible for making sure everyone in their group has read and agrees to these terms.
2) Booking and payment
2.1 Booking confirmation
Your place is only confirmed when:
- we accept your booking; and
- we receive the required deposit or full payment (as stated at the time of booking).
2.2 Deposits
Deposits are generally non-refundable unless we cancel the trip (see section 11).
2.3 Final balance
The remaining balance must be paid by the due date stated in your booking confirmation. If payment is late, we may at our sole discretion cancel your booking and keep your deposit.
2.4 Prices
Prices are shown in £ unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing mistakes before your booking is confirmed.
3) What is and is not included
Your booking confirmation and itinerary will state what is included.
Unless we explicitly say otherwise, prices may not include things such as:
- international flights
- visas
- travel insurance
- vaccinations/medical costs
- personal spending money
- tips/gratuities
- alcohol
- optional activities
- excess baggage fees
You are responsible for checking the inclusions/exclusions before booking.
4) Your health, fitness and responsibility to disclose
Safari and wildlife trips can be physically demanding, remote, and unpredictable.
By travelling with us, you confirm that:
- you are fit enough for the trip you booked; and
- you have told us about any medical condition, allergy, injury, disability, or other issue that may affect your safety or the safety of others.
We may ask for more information before confirming or allowing participation in some activities.
If we reasonably believe a traveller is not fit to safely take part, we may restrict activities or refuse participation in part or all of the trip (see section 8 and section 9).
5) Travel documents, visas and insurance
You are responsible for:
- having a valid passport
- meeting entry requirements for each destination
- obtaining visas/permits (unless we explicitly say we arrange them)
- following vaccination/health requirements
- arranging suitable travel insurance
5.1 Insurance (required)
You must have valid travel insurance for the full trip, including cover suitable for:
- wildlife/safari travel
- medical treatment and emergency evacuation
- trip cancellation/curtailment
- personal belongings
- any activities you choose to take part in
We may ask to see proof of insurance before departure or during the trip.
6) Itinerary changes and wildlife reality
Wildlife trips are affected by weather, road conditions, park rules, safety issues, animal movement, local decisions, and events outside our control.
This means:
- itineraries may change;
- activities may be delayed, replaced, or cancelled;
- wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
We will always prioritise safety, legal requirements, and animal welfare.
7) Behaviour and conduct (general)
All travellers must behave responsibly and follow instructions from:
- the trip lead;
- guides;
- local partners;
- drivers;
- lodge/camp staff;
- park rangers or other authorities.
You must not behave in a way that:
- puts yourself or others at risk;
- harms wildlife or the environment;
- damages vehicles, accommodation, or equipment;
- breaches local law;
- disrupts the trip for others.
If your behaviour causes loss, damage, delay, fines, or costs, you may be charged for these.
8) Safety authority of the Trip Lead (important)
8.1 Final say on safety
The Trip Lead has the final say on all safety decisions during the trip.
This includes decisions about:
- whether an activity goes ahead;
- whether a traveller can take part;
- where travellers may stand/move;
- use of vehicles/equipment;
- access to wildlife areas;
- interactions with wildlife;
- whether a traveller must stop an activity immediately.
8.2 Delegated authority
The Trip Lead may direct another person (for example, a guide, ranger, driver, assistant, or nominated team member) to make or enforce safety decisions on their behalf.
If the Trip Lead or a person they direct gives an instruction, you must follow it immediately.
8.3 Veto power
The Trip Lead (or anyone they direct) may veto any action, activity, or decision by a traveller at any time if they believe it creates a risk.
This includes situations where the traveller is:
- actually at risk; or
- reasonably perceived to be at risk; or
- reasonably perceived to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
This decision is made for safety and may be made quickly, without debate, and must be followed immediately.
9) Zero tolerance: alcohol and drugs near wildlife (critical rule)
9.1 Zero tolerance policy
We operate a zero tolerance policy for alcohol and drug consumption when going near wildlife.
This means:
- no alcohol;
- no illegal drugs;
- no misuse of prescription medication;
- no recreational drug use;
- no being under the influence of any substance that may impair judgement, balance, reactions, awareness, or compliance.
9.2 Applies before and during wildlife activities
This rule applies:
- before wildlife drives/walks/boat trips;
- during wildlife activities;
- during any time when a traveller may be taken near wildlife at short notice;
- during animal handling opportunities (if any);
- whenever the Trip Lead says the rule is in effect.
9.3 Perceived intoxication is enough for restriction
If the Trip Lead (or anyone they direct) believes a traveller is drunk, high, impaired, or unsafe — including based on reasonable perception — that traveller may be:
- refused participation in an activity;
- removed from a vehicle/group activity;
- required to remain at camp/lodge/accommodation;
- removed from wildlife-facing parts of the trip.
We do not need to prove intoxication with a test in order to act for safety.
9.4 Consequences
Breaking this rule is treated as a serious safety breach. We may:
- stop your participation immediately;
- remove you from one or more activities;
- remove you from the remainder of the trip;
- involve local authorities if required by law or safety conditions.
In these cases, no refund will be due for missed activities, transport, accommodation, or unused parts of the trip. Any extra costs (transport, accommodation, security, rebooking, etc.) are your responsibility.
10) Wildlife interaction and animal handling (strictly controlled)
10.1 Wildlife comes first
Animal welfare and safety come first at all times. We follow local law, park rules, permit conditions, and guidance from qualified staff/rangers.
No traveller may approach, touch, feed, hold, restrain, provoke, or otherwise handle any wild animal unless explicitly authorised at that time.
10.2 Pre-handling conversation with the Trip Lead
Before any traveller is allowed to handle an animal (where lawful and part of the trip), they must have a direct conversation with the Trip Lead.
The purpose of this conversation is to assess whether the traveller:
- understands the risks;
- can follow instructions;
- is calm and suitable at that time;
- can be trusted to handle the animal safely.
10.3 Lead decides whether handling is allowed
The Trip Lead will decide whether a traveller may handle wild animals:
- with guidance/supervision, or
- without direct guidance (if ever appropriate).
This is entirely at the Trip Lead’s discretion and may depend on:
- the animal/species;
- the setting;
- the traveller’s behaviour and attitude;
- the traveller’s condition at the time;
- advice from local handlers/guides/rangers.
10.4 Permission can be stopped or restarted at any time
Permission to handle animals can be:
- granted,
- limited,
- paused,
- withdrawn, and/or
- restarted later
at any point, for any safety or welfare reason, at the Trip Lead’s discretion.
A traveller who was previously allowed to handle an animal may be refused later without warning if circumstances change.
10.5 No arguing during live situations
During any wildlife or animal-handling situation, instructions must be followed immediately. Discussions or complaints can happen later, once it is safe.
11) Cancellation by us
We may cancel a trip due to:
- safety concerns
- insufficient numbers
- events outside our control (including government action, natural events, unrest, transport disruption, disease outbreaks, etc.)
- local restrictions or permit issues
If we cancel before departure, we will offer one of the following (as appropriate):
- transfer to another trip;
- credit; or
- refund of payments made to us for the cancelled trip (excluding third-party costs we do not control, if already committed and clearly stated).
We are not responsible for your separate costs (for example flights, visas, insurance) unless required by law.
12) Cancellation by you
If you cancel your booking, cancellation charges may apply. The amount depends on how close to departure you cancel and what costs have already been committed.
Deposits are usually non-refundable.
If you do not join the trip, arrive late, or leave early, refunds are not usually available for unused parts of the trip.
13) If we remove you from an activity or the trip
We may remove a traveller from an activity or from the whole trip if they:
- break these terms;
- ignore safety instructions;
- create risk to themselves, others, or wildlife;
- are drunk/high/impaired or reasonably believed to be;
- act aggressively, abusively, or recklessly;
- break local law.
If this happens:
- no refund is due for unused services;
- we may require the traveller to leave accommodation/activities/vehicles;
- the traveller is responsible for all resulting costs.
14) Liability and risk
Safari and wildlife travel involves inherent risks, including serious injury or death. Risks may include (without limitation):
- wildlife behaviour
- rough terrain
- remote locations
- vehicle movement
- weather
- limited medical access
- transport delays/failures
We take safety seriously and use guides/partners/controls, but we cannot remove all risk.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded).
15) Your responsibility for instructions and local rules
You are responsible for:
- listening carefully to safety briefings;
- asking if you do not understand;
- following local law and conservation rules;
- following photography/drone restrictions where applicable;
- not pressuring guides/leads to break safety rules.
If local authorities, rangers, or park rules conflict with personal preference, their rules win.
16) Photos, video and marketing
We may take photos/video during trips for operational or promotional use. If you do not want identifiable images used in marketing, please tell us in writing before the trip.
17) Complaints
If something goes wrong, tell the Trip Lead as soon as possible so we have a fair chance to fix it during the trip.
If it is not resolved, send your complaint in writing to stu@worldlifeglobal.com within 14 days of returning, with details of the issue and any evidence.
18) Data and contact details
We use your booking information to run your trip, contact you about your booking, and meet legal/safety requirements. You confirm the details you provide are accurate and up to date.
19) Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory local consumer law says otherwise.
