Day 1:
Arrival in Nosy Be - A Nocturnal Awakening
Welcome to the Isle of Perfume:
As your plane touches down in Nosy Be, breathe in the intoxicating blend of ylang-ylang, vanilla, and sea air. This is the gateway to your Malagasy adventure, a place where relaxation and discovery intertwine.
Embark on a Night-time Quest:
As darkness shrouds the island, venture into Lokobe National Park, a pocket of pristine rainforest teeming with nocturnal life. Your expert guide will lead you through the shadowy undergrowth, revealing the secrets of the night. Listen for the rustling of leaves, the chirping of insects, and the occasional call of a nocturnal lemur as you search for the elusive creatures that call this forest home
Day 2
Crossing to Ambanja - Quest for the Panther Chameleon

A speedboat awaits to whisk you across the sparkling waters to mainland Madagascar.
Feel the thrill of adventure as you leave the island paradise behind and set your sights on the wild landscapes that lie ahead.
In Pursuit of Colour:
Arriving in Ambanja, a town nestled amidst lush plantations, you’ll embark on a quest to find one of Madagascar’s most iconic inhabitants: the Panther Chameleon (Furcifer pardalis).
These remarkable reptiles are masters of disguise, capable of changing their colours to blend seamlessly with their surroundings. Be mesmerised by their vibrant hues and their slow, deliberate movements as you learn about their fascinating lives and their unique adaptations.
Day 3
Ambanja to Ankarana - A Road of Discovery
A Scenic Journey Through the Highlands:
The RN6, a winding ribbon of road that traverses the heart of Northern Madagascar, awaits. As you journey south, watch as the landscape transforms from coastal plains to rolling hills and verdant valleys.
Chameleon Encounters Along the Route:
Keep your eyes peeled as you cross the Ifasy and Mahavavy rivers. The roadside is a prime habitat for panther chameleons, your guide will stop whenever possible to allow you to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
Day 3
Ambanja to Ankarana - A Road of Discovery

Ankarana - Tsingy, Lemurs, and Reptiles Unveiled

Prepare to be awestruck by Ankarana National Park, a geological wonderland sculpted by millennia of erosion. The Tsingy, a forest of jagged limestone karsts, dominates the landscape, creating a surreal and otherworldly environment.
The Crowned Jewels of Ankarana:
Explore the park’s trails and keep an eye out for one of Ankarana’s most charismatic residents: the Crowned Lemur (Eulemur coronatus). With their striking orange eyes and regal crowns, these primates are a true delight to behold. Watch as they leap effortlessly through the trees, whilst their calls echo through the forest.
Day 5
To Daraina - In Search of the Mysterious Aye-Aye
A Journey to the Remote:
Today, you’ll journey to the Loky-Manambato protected area, a remote sanctuary dedicated to the conservation of one of Madagascar’s most enigmatic creatures: the Aye-Aye. This is a journey into the heart of wild Madagascar, far from the crowds and the tourist trails.
The Enigmatic Aye-Aye:
As dusk settles, prepare for an unforgettable night walk in search of the Aye-Aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis). This nocturnal primate is unlike any other, with its large eyes, bat-like ears, and elongated middle finger. Witness its bizarre adaptations as it taps on tree trunks, listening for the sounds of insects, and then uses its specialised finger to extract its prey. Seeing an Aye-Aye in the wild is a truly magical experience.
Day 6
A Scenic Drive to Marojejy - A Kaleidoscope of Chameleons and some bizarre invertebrates

Spend two full days exploring the depths of this incredible forest. Your expert guide will lead you on day and night walks, revealing the hidden wonders of this biodiversity hotspot. Search for the Silky Sifaka (*Propithecus candidus*), a critically endangered lemur with a cloud-like coat of white fur, and marvel at the vibrant colours of the various amphibian and reptile species that call this forest home.

Venture off the beaten path on a full-day hike through the remote landscapes surrounding Antalaha. With the guidance of expert herpetologists, you’ll search for the hidden reptiles that call this region home, including the cryptically camouflaged Leaf-Tailed Geckos (Uroplatus sp.) and the elusive Brookesia or Leaf Chameleons. These are the smallest Chameleons in the world and could comfortably stand on your thumbnail.
Day 11
Return Journey to Ambilobe - A Tapestry of Landscapes
Reflecting on the Wild:
As you retrace your route westward towards Ambilobe, take time to reflect on the incredible experiences of the past few days. The landscape unfolds before you once more, offering new perspectives and hidden details.
Hidden Gems Along the Way:
Keep your eyes peeled for roadside markets where local artisans sell their crafts and be sure to stop and sample some of the local delicacies.
Day 12
Back to Nosy Be - A Farewell to Lokobe
Island Homecoming:
Today, you’ll return to the familiar shores of Nosy Be, where your adventure began. Settle back into your accommodations and take some time to relax and rejuvenate after your journey through the Malagasy wilderness.
Lokobe Revisited:
In the afternoon, revisit Lokobe National Park for a daytime tour, offering a fresh perspective on this incredible ecosystem. See Lemurs basking in the sunlight, watch Chameleons change colour against the vibrant foliage, and listen to the symphony of birdsong that fills the air. This is your chance to say farewell to the wonders of Lokobe.
Day 13
Relaxation Day in Nosy Be - A Tropical Paradise
Embrace the Island Vibe:
Today is yours to unwind and soak up the tropical atmosphere of Nosy Be. Spend the day lounging on the pristine white sandy beaches of Andilana, swimming in the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean or simply relaxing in a hammock with a good book. Indulge in a massage, sip on a refreshing cocktail, and savour the laid-back pace of island life.
Sunset Spectacle:
As the day draws to a close, find a spot on the beach to witness the spectacular sunset over the Indian Ocean. Watch as the sky explodes in a riot of colours, painting a masterpiece that will remain etched in your memory forever.
Day 14
Airport Transfer & Farewell - A Heart Full of Wonder
